If the payor lives outside Nova Scotia

If the payor lives outside of Nova Scotia, but the recipient and court order are in Nova Scotia, MEP can enforce the order as long as the jurisdiction where the payor lives has an agreement with the Nova Scotia MEP.

MEP has agreements with all provinces and territories in Canada, all states in the USA, including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, and numerous international countries. You can find more information about interjurisdictional support orders (ISO) by typing ISO into the search function at NSfamilylaw.ca.
